You may purchase a shirt even if you cannot participate in the parade.
All gymnastics and tumbling students are invited to participate with us in The Friendswood 4th of July Parade. The parade will take place Tuesday, July 4. We will not have classes that day. Students and coaches will walk and/or tumble the parade route. We will be using a trailer as our “float” If your child is 5 or under, they will ride on the float with a coach. If you want to ride too, please order a shirt for you.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. and the city will give us our number about 2 days prior to the parade. Students need to be dropped off at 9am at the gym. We will leave at 9:15 to go the line up area. Go down Spreading Oaks to the corner of 518 to watch. That way you can watch the rest of the parade and still be able to pick up by 10:30. Students should be picked up immediately following the parade at AA Gymnastics (no later than 10:30).
The required parade attire is the 2023 shirt and black shorts. You must purchase a parade shirt ($25) to participate. Bring a labled water bottle with ice. Gatorade will be provided and snow cones afterwards.
The parade goes on rain or shine. If it is raining, we will wear ponchos and have umbrellas and ride. I have been doing the parade for 45 years. It has sprinkled about 3 times during the parade. 2018 was the first year of pouring down rain during the parade. I don't expect that this year. :)
Things to Remember:
Refrain from caffiene and drink plenty of water beginning 2 days before the parade.
Wear Parade shirt/ solid black shorts, socks/tennis shoes
Hair in pony tail or pulled up and out of face (patriotic ribbons/bows are great!)
